(III. 27.)<\/strong>\nabout a temporary <strong>curfew in Hungary<\/strong>\nwas announced at 27<sup>th<\/sup> March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will\nremain in effect for a <strong>definite period\nof time between 28<sup>th<\/sup> March 2020 and 10<sup>th<\/sup> April 2020.<\/strong>\nThe stepping-out restrictions <strong>will not\nbe effective from 11<sup>th<\/sup> April 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those\nwho do not speak Hungarian at a proper level, understanding the articles of the\ncurfew edict may be a challenge. Our small blog post would like to help those\npeople to survive the oncoming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>What are the general\nregulations of the Hungarian curfew edict?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The curfew is applicable for all the people staying in the territory of Hungary.<\/li><li>Everybody should minimize his social interactions at keep a distance of 1.5 meters or more from other people if possible. This is also applicable if someone uses mass transit.<\/li><li>It is now forbidden to stay in restaurants excepts for the employees and for customers who are taking away their packed foods.<\/li><li>One needs a valid reason to leave his\/her officially registered address.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>What are the valid reasons\nto leave home during the curfew?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Going to and coming back from work; Buying\nmaterial and merchandise (goods) in connection with work.<\/li><li>Accompanying infants and children.<\/li><li>Going to visit the doctor or to\nobtain other healthcare services including the mental health services (e.g. psychiatrist).<\/li><li>Outdoor training, walking and other\nsport activities alone or with family members or people living at the same\naddress. Although, one must keep at least a 1.5 meter separation.<\/li><li>Marriage and funeral in a closed\nfamily circle<\/li><li>Buying at groceries, drogeries,\npharmacies and markets<\/li><li>Buying food for pets and animals<\/li><li>Buying agricultural materials and\ntools<\/li><li>Going to the gas station to refill\nthe vehicle<\/li><li>Buying tobacco products<\/li><li>Visit the hairdresser, the\nmanicurist (nail art)<\/li><li>Obtaining cleaning, washing and\ntransportation services<\/li><li>Obtaining car and bicycle repair\nservices<\/li><li>Handling waste and obtaining the\ncorresponding services<\/li><li>Obtaining postal, bank and\ngovernment services by person but only at the necessary level (i.e. the service\ncannot be obtained from home)<\/li><li>Feeding animals, pet walking,\nobtaining veterinary services<\/li><li>Carrying out parental obligations\nand rights (e.g. visiting children)<\/li><li>Visiting churches<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Curfew rules for elderly\npeople<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People at\nthe age of <strong>65 or more <\/strong>can only visit\nshops, pharmacies, drogeries and markets every day between <strong>9 and 12 p.m. (i.e. 9-12)<\/strong>. In this period of time, however, <strong>other people must not stay in the stores<\/strong>.\nExcept the staff of course. So the government wants to separate the elderly from\nother people as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Legal consequences of the\nviolation of the curfew edict<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The police are\nresponsible for controlling and checking the regulations of the curfew edict.\nAlthough, the police is entitled to involve the help of other government\norganizations like the military police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Violation\nof the rules of the curfew is considered as a <strong>misconduct<\/strong> and the <strong>penalty\nmay range from 5.000.-HUF to 500.000.-HUF.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police are\nalso entitled to use force at the necessary level (e.g. arrest, or detention).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\ndocuments you may need during the curfew?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are\nno regulations regarding to the documents you should carry.
